The state of Connecticut is located in the northeastern United States and is home to nearly 3.6 million people. It's borders are defined by the Long Island Sound to the south and the Housatonic, Connecticut, and Thames rivers to the east, west, and north, respectively. The state capital of Hartford is located in the central part of the state.
Connecticut is a significant center for insurance, manufacturing, and financial services. Some of the largest companies headquartered in the state include Aetna, The Hartford, Travelers Insurance, General Dynamics, United Technologies, and Cigna.
In terms of infrastructure, Connecticut boasts a well-developed system of highways and railways. Interstate 95 runs through the state from southwest to northeast, providing access to major cities like New York City and Boston. Amtrak also offers train service to these cities from several locations in Connecticut.
