Quick Safety Tips
List of Services
-
Look and WatchList Item 1
Prior to setting up, park pump outside the job and asses the area with the operator to ensure the area is safe to set up! Have crew onsite to guide the pump in or stop traffic if necessary.
-
CribbingList Item 2
While our pumps come with outrigger pads it's always best to have spare cribbing or dunnage onsite to stabilize or level out an area when necessary
-
Watch out!List Item 3
It's always a good idea to have spotters when setting up the concrete pump outriggers to ensure people or objects are not in the swing area or crush points.
-
The Prime TimeList Item 4
The prime out of the pump is the time when you run the greatest risk of a jam up. Be sure everyone is clear of the discharge area and clamp connections in the case of a jam up or blow out.
-
Its not a Crane!
Though it may be tempting, never use the boom pump to lift anything other than the connected tip hose. These booms are only designed to hold their own weight plus the weight of concrete in the delivery system. Damage can and will occur causing an unsafe situation!
-
The Hopper!
The pump hopper can be one of the most dangerous areas on the pump. Be sure to never allow any of the crew to stand on or put any tools into the hopper while in operation.
